Applications

  • Road over bridge (ROB) deck formwork – spanning over railway lines
  • Flyover bridge deck construction – urban elevated roads
  • Culvert box construction – drainage and irrigation crossings
  • Pier and abutment formwork – bridge substructure

What thickness of shuttering plate is needed for bridge construction?
For bridge deck pours with concrete depths of 200mm to 300mm, 8mm to 10mm thick shuttering plates are typically used. For longer spans, 12mm plates with stiffeners are recommended.

Bridge Shuttering Plates - Specifications and Technical Data

Bridge shuttering plates are heavy-duty steel formwork panels used for road over bridge (ROB), flyover, culvert and bridge deck construction. They must withstand very high concrete pressures during pours and be reusable for multiple cycles. Suncorp manufactures IS 2062 certified bridge shuttering plates at our Hyderabad fabrication facility for NHAI, state highway and municipal bridge projects across India.

Where Bridge Shuttering Plates Are Used

  • Road over bridge (ROB) deck formwork - spanning over railway lines
  • Flyover bridge deck construction - urban elevated roads
  • Culvert box construction - drainage and irrigation crossings
  • Pier and abutment formwork - bridge substructure
  • Precast yard - casting of bridge beams and deck panels
What thickness of shuttering plate is needed for bridge construction?
For bridge deck pours with concrete depths of 200mm to 300mm and spans of 1.0m to 1.5m between supports, 8mm to 10mm thick shuttering plates are typically used. For longer spans or heavier concrete sections, 12mm plates with additional stiffeners are recommended.
